Papa and GiGi go to South Carolina

This weekend, we took a very early morning flight on Friday to South Carolina to see our new grand baby, Avery.  We arrived ready to do our best bounce and weave and to play with our very active and delightful granddaughter, Maggie.  Oh yeah, and to see their parents Erin and Dan...We had a wonderful time.  Avery was still so little and just a precious angel.  Just like all newborns, she spent most of her time sleeping but that didn't stop us from holding and cuddling her every minute possible.   She is, of course, the most beautiful baby ever.  But, if you really want to have your heart handed to you, try resisting a precocious two year old calling out for her Papa and Gigi.  We chased each other, tickled, took walks, colored with the sidewalk chalk, went to the zoo, lunched at "The Mouse" (aka Chuckie Cheese), had lots of fries and "dabble" (ketchup), and basically let her tell us exactly what our next move would be.  And we were happy to do so.  We had a wonderful time.  Maggie really took to her Papa!  If he would go out of her sight, she was out looking for him.  And the feeling was mutual.   Mike played the role like a master.  If she wanted it, she got it.  Here are just a few of my favorite pictures.  It was hard to leave and to be so far from them knowing that we don't get to be apart of their everyday life.   We can't wait to spend some more time with them on the beach next month.  We love you Avery and Maggie.  See you at the beach!!
